Guest Bedroom / Stay Must-Haves (Beyond Just a Bed)

Believe it or not, my house does not have a guest room. While I'd LOVE to because I love to host, its just not in the cards. We have 3 beds on our main floor, one for each of us and a den downstairs that i use an office because it has no windows. SO when guests do come they either sleep in my kids beds or downstairs on a pull out couch.

So while I cannot make them comfortable in a room like a 5 star resort, I try and find other ways that I can make sure their stay is still comfortable!

I make sure my bathroom is fully stocked for them

  1. Extra toothbrushes (just in case)

  2. New Toothpaste

  3. Towels and face clothes (soft and basically the best ones I own)

  4. Shower - shampoo, conditioner, body wash, dry shampoo etc..)

  5. Hand soap & lotion (I like to add face lotion because when I go and I forget it, i feel AWFUL)

  6. Brushes & extra hair stuff if needed!

Sleeping area

  1. COMFY and fluffy duvet and pillows (to make up for the not as comfy pull out bed they have), i line it with soft blankets because sheets don't fit.

  2. a lamp to light up the area without the bright lights

  3. Lots of extra blankets

  4. a portable fan

General Hanging

  1. GOOD Coffee

  2. Tons of food

  3. Coffee cups and to go cups if we are out and about!

  4. Pre-shop and fill my pantry with extra snacks, fruit and baking so that they can grab whatever, whenever!

It doesn't have to be an elaborate space, but I like to make sure people feel as at home as they can while away from home. And probably, over compensating for NOT having a specific guest room in my house in the other areas that I can control! I hope this gives you some ideas for hosting and inspires you to do it even if you don't have a room for them. They will just be happy to spend special time with you, I promise!
