How to add Fall Decor - in different ways than pumpkins!

How can I add fall decor without throwing pumpkins everywhere and breaking the bank?

Fair, you don't want to shop and spend for every holiday out there! It becomes a lot. So when we think fall but don't want it to be pumpkin fest, lets focus on warmth, coziness and mood!

For warmth, let's add things like :

  • Heavier Blankets

  • Chunky knit pillows

  • Neutral / Fall Colours - deep colours or patterns

  • rattan or weaved texture

For Coziness & modd lets add things like:

  • lots and lots of layered lighting - lamps and dim lights, fairy lights

  • amber glass candles

  • adding in natural textures to your vignettes or displays

  • Scents - Simmer pots or fall blends in your diffuser (candles if you you are a candle gal!)

Really, let's just focus on brining elements from the outside in, in a decor focused way. Whether it be colours or textures its a sure fire way to add that warmth and coziness that we crave in fall. All the twinkle lights and dim lighting to set up for a cozy day at home during the colder days that settle upon us.

Taking this approach is super with respect to budgeting, cost saving and consumption decreasing. Not buying something for every holiday is a great way to buy pass overconsumption and most importantly let you budget for things that you need. While getting new decor can be lovely, I want to emphasise the ability to still decorate for the seasons without breaking the bank! Decorating this way also encourages getting creative, thinking outside the box. Let us think of new ways to use things we already own in order to give our space a little seasonal spruce

Ideas to reuse items you already may own:

  • Layering in scarves or shawls as blankets or decor

  • You don't need fall themed pillows but you could use knit, velvet or deep coloured pillows you have laying around

  • forage nature for your stems

  • dry your summer flowers to save for fall

  • use any earth toned books as your fall vignette decor

  • DIY your artwork with thrifted frames or chalk messages

I know there is a way for everyone to get those fall touches at home ;) and i hope some of these ideas spark some interest for fall decorating this season!

xx
